Dillon Fence fans! Blue Dogs Summer Shindig with The Connells and Sqwzbxx at the Refinery in Charleston, SC is coming right up on Saturday, May 31… get your tickets here before they’re all gone. This is the only show that Scott Carle, Chris Goode, Kent Alphin and I have on the book right now, so don’t miss it if you need some DF in your life. We look forward to seeing you.
GH & Friends this Thursday, April 24, 8:30 PM at New York City’s venerable nightclub, The Bitter End! I’ll be joined by aces Jason Ewald, Stacy Werdin, and Marcus Farrar. Here’s a version of “Fall Into The Sea” from our last show at The Bitter End that I posted on IG... enjoying our vocal group vibe. Advance tickets here. Sharing the evening with some great talents – playing in-between Rich Pagano + The Sugarcane Cups’ album release show and Oz Noy’s birthday show. Should be quite a hang!
Recap - April dates with Johnny Irion & Mark Bryan
Had a great week making music with Mark Bryan and Johnny Irion. Posted some pics and vids on IG… we ended the run in Myrtle Beach at Hootie & The Blowfish’s golf-centric annual charity event, Monday After The Masters, which has raised over $7 million over the past 30 years. Amazing!
Mark was the MD for Hootie’s closing concert at House of Blues on Monday night and invited Johnny and I to help back up some of their many special guests, which included founder of The Commodores Thomas McClary, American Idol’s Taylor Hicks and The Voice’s Javier Colon, songsmith Patrick Davis and his sister Megan D. Campbell, Drew Copeland of Sister Hazel , hitmakers Edwin McCain and Ryan Cabrera, country singer Jillian Cardarelli, and Megadeth’s Shawn Drover.
Olympic long jump champion Bob Beamon (!) sat in on percussion and Mark’s son Kenny Bryan tore up the bass guitar on some numbers as well.
Jaws dropped when hip hop greats Chubb Rock and a reunited 3rd Bass (MC Serch and Pete Nice) joined Hootie on stage for a medley of their old-school hits.
Thank you to Darius Rucker, Jim Sonefeld, Dean Felber, Gary Greene, Garry Murray, Lee Turner, Paul Graham, Charlton Singleton, Anderson Knott, Isabel Ann, Jeff Cranfill, and the extended Hootie family for including us. We won’t forget this one.
Mark, Johnny, and I are already discussing the next time we can pull out those acoustic guitars and harmonize again… maybe even make a record.
Thanks to The Gilded Cellar, Uncle Festers Bar and Pine Lakes Tavern for having us. Thank you to all of our friends, fans and family who came out to the shows!
I’ll be playing out east on Long Island later this summer… check greghumphreys.net for my updated live performance schedule.
More soon,
Greg
