OBX4! Dec gigs: GH&F, Dillon Fence, Hobex
GH NYC 12/4 & 14, Dillon Fence Raleigh 12/21, Hobex Gboro 12/20
Season’s greetings, folks. A sincere thank you to everyone who has tuned in to Outer Banks Season 4 Episode 9 on Netflix and caught my song, “Fall Into The Sea” during the end credits! Always wanted a #1… thank you to the OBX crew for including me.
Listen to “Fall Into The Sea” at the OBX official playlist on Spotify and Apple Music. Keeping good company there.
I’ve been getting a great reaction to the new album Disappearing (which contains “Fall Into The Sea”) from friends and fans who have been listening. Here’s a great review of the LP on Substack from Michael Elliott at The Mixtape. Thank you, Michael!
I know it’s asking a lot these days to give an album full attention in this era of 15-second clips, but I do still think of an album as a creative statement and I feel that Disappearing is one of my best yet. I hope you’ll give it a stream/listen and add it to your playlists on your preferred steaming service here. Also available on Bandcamp.
Looking forward to some NYC and NC shows coming up this December. GH & Friends return to 11th St Bar this Wednesday 12/4 for our final 1st-Wednesday-of-the-month of 2024. I’ll be joined by Jason Ewald on drums and vocals and Brett Bass on bass guitar. Our friend Jack O’Hara opens the show with a solo set and will join us on guitar for a few later in the evening.
GH & Friends are back at NYC’s venerable The Bitter End on Saturday, December 14 for a 9:30 PM set with Mark Greenberg on drums, Dred Scott on keys, and Stacy Werdin on bass guitar and vocals. It’s Saturday night, so grab those advance tickets here.
Our family is heading to NC for the holidays and I’m excited for a couple of reunion shows while we’re in town.
Dillon Fence plays Lincoln Theatre on Saturday, December 21. Our last Lincoln show came very close to selling out, so get your advance tickets here. I’ll be joined by Kent Alphin, Chris Goode, and Scott Carle. 2024 is the 30th anniversary of our Living Room Scene LP, so we’ll be pulling some tunes from that album for our set.
George Huntley (formerly of the Connells) opens… George has a great new band featuring DF’s Scott Carle. Alex Lawhon starts the show with a solo set. Dillon Fence Ts and hats make a great gift, if you’d like to visit our online store!
Thank you to all you wonderful people who have been streaming and sharing our recent live Dillon Fence album, In Flagrante Delicto - listen/save on the streamers here or buy/download at Bandcamp here.
Hobex returns to The Flat Iron in Greensboro, NC for our Christmas Jam on Friday, December 20. Longtime bassist Andy Ware and I will be joined by Eddie Walker on drums and David McCracken on keys.
Tom Mackell opens the show with his band, which features our good bud Mason Pitts on bass guitar, and Farewell Friend plays a solo set to start the night. We did two nights last year here with the Finns and both nights sold out, so this show is also on the likely sell-out list… you can get your advance tickets here.
I hope you have a great holiday and I hope to see you in 2025!
More soon,
Greg
